Tech, Grit & Innovation: Pacific Northwest Veterans Invited to Compete in $1 Million Patriot Pitch Contest
The Pacific Northwest has always been an engine for disruption, pioneering ideas, and forward-thinking business models. Now, the SBA is looking for that exact spirit of regional ingenuity.
To honor 250 years of American free enterprise, the SBA has introduced the Patriot Pitch Competition. Backed by a $1 million cash prize pool funded by Clover, this national contest is specifically designed to spotlight small businesses that are leveraging new strategies, modernizing operations, and actively driving innovation in their respective sectors.
If you are a Pacific Northwest veteran entrepreneur who used SBA capital to build your company, this is your platform to gain national recognition , connect with corporate buyers at a supplier matchmaking expo, and secure serious funding.
The Evaluation Criteria
A series of four sequential judging panels will analyze each entry based on how effectively the business executes on the following:
- Driving U.S. Competitiveness: Actively strengthening America’s competitive edge.
- Outsized Impact: Proving that your small business punches well above its weight class.
- Economic Footprint: Contributing to local economic opportunity and sustainable, quality jobs.
- Execution Readiness: Presenting airtight business fundamentals and scalable infrastructure.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
This competition is structured for established small businesses with a history of utilizing federal capital. Review the checklist below:
- Qualified SBA Capital: You must have a business that benefited from SBA 7(a) loans (PPP included), 504 loans, Microloan Intermediaries, SBIR/STTR grants, or SBIC financing. (Disaster and EIDL loans do not satisfy this requirement).
- Time in Market: Active operations for at least 3 years.
- Revenue Floor: At least $100,000 in gross annual revenues.
- Citizen Status: 100% U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident ownership (ages 18+).
- Clean Credit: Fully current and in good standing regarding any federal debts or previous federal loan programs.
Finalists must be available to travel to Washington, D.C. for the live pitch competition in mid-September at their own expense.
